Kiehl’s began in New York’s East Village in 1851 as an old-world apothecary. Today, Kiehl’s continues its dedicating to providing unique and proven skin and hair care products, along with an amazing degree of personalized service.

Kiehl’s main shop is Manhattan, with satellite stores sprinkled across the United States. But your local upscale department store may carry Kiehl’s products, too.

Kiehl’s has established a reputation for excellence in the fields of skin, hair and body care, thanks to its unique formulations. Kiehl’s products are based on extensive cosmetic, pharmaceutical, herbal and medicinal knowledge — but their products are never tested on animals. With its simple recyclable packaging, it’s easy to see that Kiehl’s concentrates their efforts on quality ingredients and the product itself, not extravagant exteriors.

You need to choose your skin care products carefully, according to your skin type and special needs. Kiehl’s understands that skin is delicate and needs special attention. From very dry to very oily, and everything in between, their skin care products will cleanse and moisturize your skin without stripping it of its natural oils.

If you haven’t looked closely at Kiehl’s lately, you’ll find some enticing new products. One of these is the Musk Shower Gel, a richly foaming gel cleanser. Non-drying, it’s effective but gentle — terrific for those bold women who enjoy a distinctly sensual fragrance.

Another new Kiehl’s product is the Epidermal Re-Texturizing Micro-Dermabrasion. Clinically proven to refine the skin’s surface and condition the skin for treatment, this retexturizing formula is made with diatomatious earth, meaning crushed microshells derived from ocean sand. Kiehl’s Epidermal Re-Texturizing Micro-Dermabrasion reduces the appearance of facial lines, making skin texture smoother and clearer.

For superior skin and beauty products, try Kiehl’s. With over 150 years of experience, they’re the experts in high end skin care.

How much time and money do you spend on your beauty routine?

Over the years you will have spent a small fortune on all the creams, lotions and maybe even some beauty treatments.

But what is it costing the earth?

It’s never too late to redeem yourself. You can become an eco-beauty with very little effort.

Follow the 10 tips below to make sure you still look superb but don’t harm the earth at the same time.

1. Go natural. No we don’t mean no make up at all. You will naturally look better by getting a good nights sleep and you wont need as much make up as a consequence.

2. Recycle. Bottles, jars and tubes can all be recycled. No change to your beauty routine but the benefits to mother earth are there for all to see. A really simple one.

3. Spring Clean. Think of all the half used bottles and jars of cream you have. Instead of buying new creams ask yourself where you could reuse these creams. Face cream for example could easily be used on the ankles and feet. If you don’t intend using it, then give it away.

4. Be Minimal. Just use what you need. This saves on product and usually makes you look even better. Give it a try.

5. Drink lots of water. The right amount of water is different for everyone but one thing is for sure…. We don’t normally drink enough. Not only does it cleanse our insides but also the boost to our complexion is quite magnificent. Drink more, drink more, drink more… let that be your motto.

6. Half measures. Less is more. When your hairdresser tells you that you only need a small spoonful of shampoo they are telling the truth. Just use what you need. It will be less expensive for you as well.

7. Food for thought. Don’t throw out cucumbers just because they are too limp for the salad. Use them to soothe tired eyes. Look for beauty tips using natural products. You will be amazed at what you find.

8. Swap shop. Seek out those brands that are actively trying to make a difference and change to them. Look for proof that they really mean what they say.

9. Save time? Save the earth instead. Ready-made facial wipes are great for tired beauty fans – one wipe does the trick. But the cost to the environment is substantial. Why not just buy a face cloth instead? Does the same thing and only takes a few minutes more.

10. Chemical brothers. Check the labels. If your favourite beauty products use parabens and sodium laureth sulphate then ditch them.

Both of these ‘nasties’ have been identified as carcinogens with harmful effect on the planet. They can be bad for you as well causing skin irritation.

The above 10 tips are by no means complete, But if you use beauty products then you might as well keep the earth looking beautiful as well.

If you’ve noticed that parts of your face that appear oily while others seem dry, chances are good that you have combination skin. Oily areas often appear shiny, while dry areas look dull and flaky.

Usually, the oily zone concentrates in areas around your forehead and down your nose. This is called the “T” zone, since it looks like letter T if you look in the mirror. On the other hand, most of your face will be neither excessively oily nor excessively dry, and this is normal skin.

In addition to noticing the oil in the T zone area, you might also see or feel the following:

• Most of your skin feels tight and drawn after you cleanse your face.
• Skin not in the T zone can feel dry and rough.
• Parts of your face, mostly the T zone, appear shiny. You might be dealing with blackheads, blemishes and a general feeling of greasiness in this area while the rest of your skin is normal or dry.

Caring for skin that’s both oily and dry presents a challenge. Still, there are special ways to treat combination skin to avoid irritating or worsening any skin conditions. You can have healthy skin and still address the specific needs of different parts of your face. Here’s how:

• Use a good quality mild cleanser twice a day. Wash your entire face with cleanser before you go to bed and when you get up in the morning. Make sure you remove all makeup at night and all oil in the morning.
• After washing, apply a quality moisturizer to the dry parts of your face only. Do not moisturize the T zone area, as this will cause it to produce more oil.
• Work towards normalizing your skin. This means focusing your efforts on evening out or balancing the oily and dry areas on your face. Use a product designed to balance or normalize skin.

AHA Creams
Creams that contain AHA or alpha hydroxyl acids act to normalize the skin. They are made from fruit acids or AHA’s and may contain retinols, a derivative of Vitamin A.

AHA creams work to rejuvenate and regenerate skin cells, sloughing off the top layer of skin that’s either very oily or very dry, and allowing the healthier lower layer of skin cells to rise to the surface. The younger and healthier cells are better able to absorb and use the moisturizers, promoting a healthier layer of skin cells.

Additionally, AHA’s help the skin hold in water by increasing its binding capabilities. With enough water in formerly dry areas, you’ll feel a decrease in that tight or pulling feeling that dry skin gives. So as a result, the same cream works in both directions: it addresses dry areas of the skin by enhancing hydration, and helps control oily parts of the face by removing the dead skin cells which trap oil on the skin’s surface.

AHA’s must be used continuously. If you stop using them, you will very quickly note that your skin goes back to its original condition and that there are few to no visible benefits after you stop applying the cream.

Controlling the Shine
The T zone area or oily area of your face will tend to become shinier as the day progresses. This is due to the natural build-up of oil in the pores. While you can’t prevent this from happening, using oil-absorbing makeup will help keep this area shine free.

Remember: the T zone is the area around the forehead and nose, so focus there. You can also use oil absorbing cloths and pads, patting them on the skin throughout the day to remove excess oils. You might need to touch up your oil absorbing make-up afterward.

Treating combination skin doesn’t need to be overwhelming, but it does require paying attention to the different needs of oily and dry skin. While there isn’t a cure for this type of problem, it’s both very common and very manageable with a good skin care regimen.

Check all your current facial products to make sure they’re designed for healthy-looking combination skin. Avoid ones that inadvertently dry the skin or lay on additional oils. Instead, work towards normalizing or balancing your skin, and you’ll see the results in a beautiful, healthy look.

Few people would argue that the first and most recognizable sign of aging is facial wrinkles. Since your face is the first thing people see, an aged-looking face makes an unwelcome first impression. Obviously, our culture links beauty with youth, so no matter how many years we have, we wage war on the aging process and fight to keep our faces looking youthful and smooth.

Literally thousands of marketed products claim to promote a youthful appearance. Most are only slightly effective, at best. And yet, products do exist that can visibly help smooth out wrinkles and keep your skin soft, supple and youthful-looking.

Creams
You can find some effective face creams on the market. They contain both natural and chemical additives that work to tighten facial skin and prevent or reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Women have used these creams for a long time; of the first anti-aging creams was produced in Victorian times, and was called Gowland.

Today most major cosmetic manufacturers produce their own line of “age-defying” face creams. L’Oreal, Mary Kay, Avon and Oil of Olay are but a few. Most of these creams contain a compound such as parelastin that tightens the face and reduces the appearance of wrinkles.

For most of these creams, you must use them continuously, and as part of a complete beauty regimen that includes proper cleansing and hydration efforts. But it isn’t necessary to buy the top-priced products. Natural ingredients, such as a mask made from mashed bananas, can produce a similar effect. Of course, this isn’t as convenient as the commercial creams, because mashed bananas aren’t “shelf stable” — you have to whip up your wrinkle treatment over and over again.

While creams or masks, whether natural or synthetic, can’t cure wrinkles or remove them altogether, they can firm the skin and reduce their appearance. Toners also help keep the skin tight and sag-free.

Botox
One of the fastest-acting treatments out there, Botox injections have become an extremely popular way to combat the signs of aging. In this procedure, a cosmetic surgeon injects the paralyzing toxin under the surface of the skin, which blocks the neurological signals that tell habitual, wrinkle-producing muscles to contract (such as the ones that we use when we frown or furrow our foreheads).

As those muscles relax and straighten, they pull the skin tight again, completely eliminating the wrinkle. This process works beautifully even for deep forehead wrinkles. The client begins to see the happy results almost immediately after treatment, and the muscles will fully relax within a week.

The results aren’t permanent, however, and clients need to repeat the treatment about three times per year, after the toxin wears off. Botox involves few if any side effects, so long as the practitioner is skilled enough to inject it where it belongs.

The effects of Botox injections are dramatic, and most people are willing to pay to continue with treatments. Most patients feel they look five to fifteen years younger using Botox. The more wrinkles you start with, the more dramatic your results will be. Botox is injected right in the doctor’s office, so there’s no need for an expensive hospital stay or other additional fees.

Laser
Laser treatments for wrinkles are non-surgical, and no more invasive than Botox treatments. In this procedure, a Fraxel laser directs a high-level concentrated heat beam at the wrinkle. The laser actually burns off dead skin cells at the skin’s surface, which causes some minimal skin damage to the area. But one the skin heals, the new tissue that’s revealed is healthy and wrinkle-free.

This process takes several treatments, depending on how deep the wrinkles are and how many are being treated. In addition to wrinkles, the Fraxel laser can also remove age spots and sun spots, also signs of aging. The Fraxel laser is the only wrinkle-removing technique on the market that also removes skin discolorations related to age.

Laser treatment involves very few side effects. The greatest problem is finding a doctor or dermatologist who’s trained in this recent technique.

All of the treatments above offer some relief to the man or woman bent on reducing or even eliminating their wrinkles. Creams work to soften the skin and improve elasticity, reducing their appearance. Botox paralyzes hyper-developed, wrinkle-forming muscles to eliminate them, at least temporarily. And modern lasers burn off the top layer of skin cells that lead to wrinkles.

All these methods are useful ways of fighting the war against aging, but no matter what treatment you choose, you’ve got an ongoing battle on your hands.

Microdermabrasion treatments used to be known as the lunchtime peel. This short but effective anti aging skin procedure involved a visit to a dermatologist or cosmetician’s office. Thanks to new technology you can now perform this costly procedure yourself at home by buying home microdermabrasion kits.

Professional microdermabrasion treatments involve the use of a tool that resembles a small blowtorch. This torch emits crystals on the surface of the skin and then gently polishes it. This polishing gets rid of the old exfoliated old skin cells and encourages new skin cells to grow. The stimulation to the smaller blood vessels in the facial skin is often immediately obvious because it brings a fresh baby pink glow to the face.

These exfoliating and polishing treatments for sun-damaged skin are very popular. Microdermabrasian involves removing the superficial damaged layers in a non-invasive ways. These skin layers look healthier and the thickness of the skin is improved. However microdermabrasion works best if you attend a series of treatments so that the cells have the constant opportunity to renew and rejuvenate themselves. If you have acne scars or severe damage, you need a session every two to three weeks to achieve a smoother, healthier skin texture.

Before the advent of home microdermabrasion kits, microdermabrasion was always performed in an office. Each treatment usually took thirty minutes to an hour and cost about a hundred dollars. Now thankfully several cosmetic companies are putting out their own versions of this procedures which you can do yourself at home. This is a boon to busy and budget conscious women and men as most of these home dermabrasion kits only cost between $25 and $60 and contain several treatments in one kit. This allows you to turn your bathroom into a high efficiency salon that you can visit at your leisure to polish your skin. This type of home microdermabrasian kit is also ideal for the slightly shy teenager who would rather try to take care of his or her acne scars in private. Some microdermabrasian products promise results in about four weeks but of course this all depends on how often and how well you use the product.

Unlike the salons, these home microdermabrasian kits often contain creams or gels with small polishing granules. Some are thermogenic meaning the cream or gel heats up while it is on your face further stimulating your skin’s circulation. Some kits also come with a battery operated skin polishers, which contain a slightly abrasive plastic pad to thoroughly scrub away dead skin cells and exfoliate the top layers of the skin.

Whether you are getting microdeermabrasion in a salon or using a home microdermabrasion kit it is quite common for the skin to suffer from some irritation and redness immediately after the treatment. This is due to the exfoliation of the skin, which eventually leads to the birth of new skin cells. These new skin cells will cause wrinkled skin to look plumper, dull skin to look more vibrant and skin with acne scars to appear less pitted. If you do suffer from mild skin irritation after a treatment then usually a mild anti-inflammatory painkiller such as Advil does the trick for relieving the discomfort.

For maximum results you should also avoid wearing make up for a few days after a treatment so that you don’t hamper the renewal and healing of your newly abraded skin in any way.

If you have acne and are planning to use a home microdermabrasion kit you should be aware that these kits are not recommended to use in conjunction with Accutane, nor should you attempt microdermabrasion on your face if you have taken Accutane in the past six months. Skin that has been exposed to accutane is naturally thinner and redder and there is greater risk of injury if you abrade your skin in any way while you are taking this drug.

As microdermabrasion only removes the top superficial layers of the skin it is considered to be quite safe. Due to the fact that skin cells regenerate quickly any redness that does occur on your skin after using a microdermabrasion kit should clear up within an hour or two. Used correctly a microdermabrasion kit can save you the money you would normally spend repeatedly visiting a dermatologist, cosmetologist or plastic surgeon to get your skin resurfaced. However keep in mind that you will still need to do several treatments at home to achieve the same results that you would visiting a salon for several microdermabrasion sessions.

Who doesn’t want to be more beautiful? Shedding extra pounds can be difficult through conventional methods, and the daily level of effort required from you can be wearing. But with plastic surgery – and particularly liposuction — you could get rid of your extra baggage within an hour!

Not only does it offer near-instant gratification, but plastic surgery has also branched out to other, even more defining aspects of bodily aesthetics. Breast enhancements and augmentations, “nose jobs,” thigh mass reductions, tummy tucks, buttocks lifts, silicon injections and fat implants — plus many more procedures — have been offered to a populace hungry for the chance to look and feel more attractive.

Cosmetic surgery actually began as a way to relieve the psychological strain of physical disfigurements caused by birth defects or accidents. It also got a big boost during both World Wars, when field doctors were forced to take creative measures with severely injured and mutilated soldiers. But as years went by, cosmetic surgery became a vanity vehicle – designed for those who want (and can pay for) a better figure or face.

Simply because it’s driven by vanity doesn’t mean that cosmetic surgery is bad, though. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to feel more confident or attractive. As they say, you only have one life to live, so you might as well be beautiful, right? What’s more, studies prove that people with cosmetically-enhanced features tend to make better first impressions, which can lead to better social opportunities, job opportunities, and salaries.

And yet, lost in the hysteria over these medical a la carte options is the fact that cosmetic surgery isn’t really for everyone. Caught up in the rush to aesthetic bliss, people lose sight of some things they should ponder before they go under the knife in the name of beauty. Let’s take a look at five things to examine closely before you choose cosmetic surgery:

1. Do you really need cosmetic surgery? Many people who are already very attractive still resort to cosmetic surgery to “correct” imperfections that only they can see. Often, this is overkill. We feel that we’re not beautiful, but sometimes, it’s only because we have a different and unrealistic set of standards for ourselves. Others tend to have a more objective view of how we really look, and if they see us to as attractive, we should take their perceptions seriously. Remember, as clichéd as it may be, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, not us. Remember also that even top models can feel quite ugly when subjected to the scrutiny and standards of their profession – but it’s all in their heads.

2. If these “imperfections” do exist, are they so important as to warrant major surgery? What makes us beautiful are our flaws, and how we compensate for them. A famous French designer once said that there were no ugly women in the world, just ones who lacked fashion sense (the knowledge of how to compensate). What’s more, there can’t be grace without disharmony, there can’t be elegance without discord, and there can’t be beauty without mortal imperfections.

3. Can the complications that sometimes follow cosmetic surgery put you in danger? A study and professional opinion on your medical history is called for to avoid any unexpected consequences that could accompany your quest for beauty. This isn’t true with just cosmetic surgery, either. Many cosmetic medications involve the introduction of specific hormones into the body, and not all systems are built for this. The advice of an objective doctor is always recommended.

4. Have you found a credible and reliable surgeon who’s a proven expert in the procedure you want done? Cosmetic surgery is a very delicate matter and should always, always be treated with care, even in the early planning stages. Do your own research and gather as many recommendations as you can. There are many unscrupulous and even unlicensed practitioners these days who are merely capitalizing on the booming interest in better beauty. Don’t allow yourself to fall prey to a less-than-leading surgeon. Also, when considering a provider, a well-known professional’s rates should be a distant second to the quality of the treatment you’ll be getting.

5. Will you be ready to cope up with the physical and psychological changes cosmetic surgery brings? This is important to consider, especially for the first few months following surgery. Post-op can be a turbulent and emotional period, though it’s true that many people committed enough to face surgery are also equipped to handle the recuperation period.

There are, of course, more questions you’ll need to ask before forging ahead. Don’t be afraid to throw all your questions at your doctor before deciding on something as momentous as cosmetic surgery. The regrets over a misunderstanding here will far overshadow any regrets over being too talkative or inquisitive beforehand.

Ultimately, cosmetic surgery is a personal decision that you and you alone can make. Do so only when you have gathered every bit of information that you need to be certain it’s really the right course for you.

Forehead Lift Information
A Forehead Lift is the medical terminology for what most people refer to as a browlift, forehead lift, brow forehead lift, and browlift surgery in general.

In this procedure the goal is to correct and minimize forehead creases, drooping eyebrows, hooding over eyes, furrowed forehead and frown lines. This is accomplished by removing excess tissue, altering muscles and tightening the forehead skin. There are two surgical procedures that may be utilized to perform a Forehead Lift. The traditional employs the use of an incision across the top of the head just behind the hairline. The procedure known as the endoscopic Forehead Lift utilizes an endoscope, which requires 3 to 5 short incisions.

Length and details of the Forehead Lift procedure
The length of operation typically runs 1 to 2 hours.

Patients are given a general or local anesthesia, with sedation.

Most Forehead Lift procedures are routinely outpatient.

Risks and/or complications related to the Forehead Lift procedure
In both types of Browlift operations the patient may experience potential side effects consisting of temporary swelling, numbness, headaches, and bruising. Individuals receiving the traditional method may face possible itching and hair loss.

In addition there are other associated risks with this procedure that include the risk of injury to the facial nerve resulting in a loss of facial motion, subsequent muscle weakness, or asymmetrical appearance. Additionally there is a chance of infection and possible excessive scarring.

For most patients the recovery time needed varies with the type of procedure. Patients may return to work in approximately 7 to 10 days for the traditional procedure with decreased times for the endoscope forehead lift. Those involved in sports or other physical activities will be able to resume these activities in approximately 2 to 3 weeks. Individuals are advised to limit their exposure to the sun for several months afterwards.

Long-term results of the Forehead Lift procedure
In this procedure the results may last several years, often between 5 and 10 years.

How much does a Forehead Lift procedure cost?
The national average cost for a procedure is $3,000

Will my insurance cover a Forehead Lift procedure?
A forehead lift is a cosmetic procedure that usually is not covered under most insurance plans. However some costs may be covered if there is a medical necessary behind the procedure. As always consult with your physician and health insurance plan.

When you call a plastic surgeon to determine the overall cost, make sure to ask specifically what is covered in the fee that is quoted to you. You should make sure that the quoted price includes the surgeon’s fee, as well as covering any fees for the anesthesiologist and operating room.

Many times when receiving a quote, the office will only inform you of the surgeon’s fees without telling you that is all they are actually quoting you. In reality, the surgeon’s fee is roughly only 60-80% of the cost for the entire procedure. This is to get you to make an appointment to see the doctor which is when they will tell you the true total cost.

That can be quite different compared to the amount you where told over the phone. It is also wise to ask if the consultation fee itself can be deducted from the total cost. Most reputable surgeons should allow this deduction.

Another potential cost factor to have clarified is, if the surgical process takes longer then is estimated who will burden the extra cost? This can turn out to be a significant extra expenditure. If the surgery is done in a hospital the anesthesia and operating room fees can accrue at an hourly rate.

There are two more issues I would like to mention. It is important to determine if you will be charged for any potential revisional surgery should it be necessary. One hopes they won’t need any revisional surgery done, but it is best to not automatically assume that will be the case. Some cosmetic surgery procedures have revision rates as high as 10-25%. If you or your plastic surgeon do not bring up these possible issue, you may end up having to fit the bill for these additional surgeries.

Lastly one should inquire if the fees for all future follow up appointments are included in the total cost. It is fairly common to receive anywhere from 9 to 12 months of follow up care at no additional cost.

As for the prices themselves they are pretty uniform in the United States on the whole. Although in some areas of New York certain procedures may cost 30-50 % more when compared to the rest of the nation. Below are some of the average prices from the east and west coast of north America for various procedures. Due note that these are the rates for accredited institutions and surgeons. It is defiently not worth the risk to try and save a few bucks by dealing with non accredited practioners.

Breast Lift $5000-6000

Breast Augmentation $5000-8000 (depends on if the implants are saline or silicone. Silicone being the more expensive of the two.)

Face Lift $7000-9000

Liposuction $2000-10,000 (depends on how many areas the procedure is done to.)

Nose Surgery $5000-6000

Tummy Tuck $6000-8000

Above are just the estimates for some of the more popular procedures. The figures themselves come from a survey done by the American Board of Plastic Surgery

Recently an article crossed my desk describing how a 45-50 year old male attorney began hearing remarks from his colleagues that he looked tired. Even though his suit was meticulous, starched collar and silk tie – he felt great, but his facial appearance had begun to wane.

Consider this: A tall, shapely woman confidently dressed in form-fitting leotards and tights working out in her favorite spa. From the back view she looks like a 20 something – nothing jiggles – her waist, tummy, and thighs all in proportion. But as she turns, you see the tired, stressed out face of a definitely 40ish or older woman desperately trying to hold on to her youth.

This scenario represents the graying of the Baby Boomers; they see aging faces developing right before their eyes and they feel helpless thinking that they, too, may have to succumb to a surgical procedure to maintain the look of health and youthfulness as a career investment.

Will they need a mini-lift? Eye lid surgery? Liposuction on their chin and neck? Not so long ago, “nips and tucks” were quiet affairs and only available to celebrities and business moguls’ wives; today plastic surgery is becoming mainstream as more and more financing options become available. Business execs, sales people, secretaries, practically every one over the age of 20 realize that their facial appearance speaks volumes about themselves: Furrowed brows: angry and explosive. Down Turned Mouth Corners: looks sad, maybe depressed Double Chin & Jowls: Looks old – old ideas.

Surgical procedures are risky. There is not one procedure performed under the guise of plastic surgery that is risk-free. Not only does a patient risk infection from an invasive procedure; scarring and loss of sensation are also a concern. There have been cases where people have suffered brain damage from anesthesia and some have died.

At what point is seeking improvement detrimental? With so many procedures available, one has to ask if the medical community has slipped into an “assembly line” status.

These very serious surgeries may disfigure one’s face and body as witnessed in many recent television shows portraying botched procedures. Noses, breasts, chins implants, liposuction nightmares and faces that look distorted cost someone a lot of cash and emotional anguish.

Imagine, paying hard earned money for a look that you may not embrace and maybe paying more to correct something that may need to be tweaked. Once tissue has been cut and sutured, it is never the same. Susan Sarandon, in a moment of rare candor, expressed succinctly to Ellen DeGeneres, “I’m scared of plastic surgery. You’re somewhere between a burn victim and a female impersonator, and then there’s a kind of an Asian thing going on.”

What if the procedure goes smoothly; there are no problems and the patient is satisfied with the new look? How long will this investment last? Most facial plastic surgery procedures, especially injections, will have to be repeated again and again. Imagine facing another surgery – anesthesia and more cutting can eventually disfigure a face. The average surgical procedure is $20,000. Multiple expenditures can quickly add up to staggering amounts.

More and more people are opting for non-surgical methods of facial rejuvenation; in fact, just as isometric and resistance type exercise works to reshape the body, facial exercise can significantly reverse the look of aging in every face. Here’s how: As we age, muscles in the face slowly relax and as they relax your skin begins to follow the downward motion. Jowls and little pouches form on the jaw line, the eyelids begin to fold and a visible line develops in your cheeks between your nose and mouth.

Unlike the major muscles in the body, the facial muscles are small; in some areas they weave over and under each other, and they attach at only one end to a bone. This means they cannot contract without an artificial anchor – in our arms and legs, we have joints that act as anchors so that we can tense our muscles with contractions. In order to contract the facial muscles so they tone, tighten and lift they must be held or anchored. This action provides increased circulation and oxygenation. This means that contortions – movements without resistance – will not contour the face and neck. Resistance exercise lifts your face from the inside out.

Using resistance and isometric movements will reshape and lift your face. These exercises create stronger, more resilient muscles and facial skin will tighten preventing further sagging. The jowls will lift, eyes will open and look vibrant and the “apples” in your cheeks will return. With exercise, you can look younger and people will recognize you even if you haven’t seen them in twenty years because you will still look like you.

She has appeared on The View, Fit TV, HGTV and other popular shows. This author, speaker and television personality is leading the crusade to keep men and women looking vibrantly younger through natural techniques without spending their children’s inheritance.
