Created by renowned chemists, Ferdinand Claus and Georges Schwedder, Porto is the base for what has become one of the most important soap making factories in history.

Claus Porto soap is milled seven times. This means it is actually mixed through the mill seven times allowing more air bubbles to be forced out of the mix and the fragrance to be more evenly distributed. This process produces a dense, hard soap, that doesn’t needlessly split or crack and gives a rich creamy lather. Claus Porto soaps naturally air dry on racks for two to three weeks to ensure an even, consistent bar.

Claus Porto soaps are made with a luxurious combination of coconut oil and shea butter for superior moisturizing and protection. The components of the soap are made to replenish the skin’s natural protein complexes. Formed, pressed and molded by hand, Claus-Porto soaps are made using only the same traditions based on through the generations.
